Chriz Doe: “Cookie Doe” CD 28th November 2025 Fastball Music. German Rock / Metal / Techno band.
While I liked their previous efforts, I must say I was astonished by this new album. No it ain’t a Limp Biskit new album. A parody? neither! So what the hell Chris Doe wanted to do with this cover artwork. Thankfully the logo is still catchy and out of the blue. It didn’t give me the wish to play that album, I wanted to get a credit for putting out a new album. Did I like it? Not really. Would I like to review it? This is a difficult answer.
For sure when the music catches my love it’s easier to blast a brilliant review to spread the band. But when it has a strange feel like it is not made to really make it serious. Here comes a disappointed thoughts of writing something. I like both label and the band. If having fun on a cover can be acceptable, I’m in a position where I don’t know in which direction this music is going to.
The new wave of Metal bands have been since 2000, going into strange places blending genres and exploiding the ancient music boxes where you could get many to find easily. But there is a difference between not willing to be set as a music style than blending in with things not really made for it.
Check out this song to get the whole Idea:
Chriz Doe, has decided to get many music styles into one piece. The new breed is more into this than my generation where we used to have boundaries between sounds and instruments.
Each song goes from many directions, from techno sample beats to Metal distortion to Rock anthems. Among this mess of mixed passages that doesn’t fit for me. There is Criz’s voice that is melodic and enjoyable.
Of course you can dig the lyrics, fun can be cool for a band. Musicaly it’s not my cup of tea.
So in the overall, there are creations with a which to be different and fit the new generation 70/100.
