Originally from Ireland, Amy and her husband Michael (drums), moved to Germany to open up their network and expand their music to the European continent. It is rather a good move even though it needs a strong will to learn another language. Since few lads speak English there, they kind of felt at home very fast. While many Irish musicians have talent, it is very hard for them to break up in the music scene without pushing abroad further.Â
Everyone remembers the great movie “The Commitment” which shows how difficult it is to form and keep a band going. Of course, this is for everyone in the world, but when you are in a small country surrounded by water, it’s much harder. I interviewed lots of bands other there.Â
Amy Montgomery is a force of nature, a little woman dedicated 100% to the music that rules her life. A strong passion and power she pushes in her voice to blast the listeners who won’t forget her. The magic and originality from this band, rely on many aspects some bands have forgotten to use. First, she lives the music with her body that dances in every possible way. Explosion of senses she is experimenting while singing. Â The whole energy comes out from her voice and when you see her, she is electrifying the place by her moves.Â
Her musicians play all instruments and during live shows, exchange instruments! They use sound effects to give a color making it a unique blend. Sometimes you imagine Indians dancing around the fire. Sometimes you are in a psychedelic universe pushing the boundaries of your mind. Imagine Janis Joplin playing with Pink Floyd experimenting with sounds and a positive vibe.
