At first, when I saw the cover artwork, I thought ‘another Black Metal band’.  Damn, I was wrong! When I saw the lineup composed of Alexander Paul Dowerk, my memory came back straight away. I reviewed his project and interviewed him in a previous magazine issue.

Two guitarists playing with typing techniques on their 8-string guitars. A mix of sound and technical parts,  blasting drumming, and complexity are the keys to this band. A keyboard for samples and diverse sounds.

A huge mystery around Anchor and Burden, from the name to the cover to the music. Out of the ordinary, the music matches the design on the cover. Opening your mind to new dimensions.

Check it out.

Influences: Nili Brosh, Mekong Delta, Messugha, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Yes, Genesis.. and many more.

Not to be played by everyone. Such as Jazz music, can sound just like noise for some and the connoisseurs will bow to this majesty of technicity. They released one album in 2022 and the next one in 2023. Normally, this one is out a year later. Extremely long album with long songs. It has sixteen parts divided into 23 tracks. This journey embarks you into the search for the inner mind.

The band never ceases to amaze, me by creating so many compositions and releasing each year a more complex album each. Amazing musicians, exploring the capabilities of composing with every beat of tune and sounds possible.

For the experienced mind in search of pleasure in the creativity of sounds  100/100.
