If the cover artwork doesn’t attract you today, you may just miss a great album in music history. I must say I was a bit surprised this was the actual artwork. A few things are really out of the point here for graphic design. It’s hard to really see the band’s name and the purpose of the main cover. I looked at it several times and thankfully I can’t stop listening to this masterpiece.
The artwork shows two kids playing a video game on the CRT TV screen, hence the title “game”. But it might be the worst design I saw in years for a cover album and they are tons of underground bands with no taste or no talent. Yet the band’s name being like out of focus and almost not viewable. So listening to this masterpiece musically, I’m blown away by the professionalism and quality of this album.
Back in 1983 Heavy Speed Metal will soon shortly become Thrash Metal for years. Heavy guitar riffs, high-pitch vocals, running like a train. A blast from the past from a young band. This is insane, I travel through time and it brings back memories. I feel alive again! Every ingredient is here to kick your ass and bring you an amazing band.

Influences from Agent Steel, Judas Priest, Flotsam and Jetsam, Toxik, Omen, Metal Church, Hellion, Sentinel Beast, Loudness, Anthrax, Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Saxon, Thrust, Dark Angel… and many more.
So it’s a big slap in your face, as we say it’s not cover that makes the band. The name rang a bell but reading their bio started in 2009, It just reminds me I do know this band. Line up changes, big names involved in the process of the making of this album such as Bill Metoyer. For many known musicians, it’s a dedication to the most. The amazing passion that drove the members to keep that album done after so many years and difficulties encountered.
I must say it is an astonishing surprise, maybe one of the best albums; even though it has many decades late aha. It proves that the great music created back then was the best still to date. Talented musicians who can recreate such masterpieces are the best.
Nevertheless, to say, they should get a decent cover that most bands have that day to stand out and call all the Metal heads in the world to jump in the wagon!
Attack of the Rising is an amazing band that everyone must have in their collection!
