D.A.D : “A Prayer For The Loud” CD & LP & Digital 31st May 2019 AFM Records. Denmark Blues / Rock / Hard Rock / Heavy Metal band. I must say I am amazed to see this band pulling out an album. I remember the MTV video about their song “Sleeping My Day” from their amazing 1989 album “No Fuel for the Pilgrims” which sent them on the stairs of stardom. When you see they started in 1982 and got a long wait to the top.
So their 1989 album was just a well received one due to the hard work done in the early eighties. I must as I stopped following band in the early nineties, I didn’t really knew they were still playing. Yet seeing their discography they have released quite a few albums and are still kicking. So as I never heard what they have done so far , hearing their new album is kind of funny to me.
This new album is like following their “No Fuel for the Pilgrims” as it sticks to that feeling of groove and cool tunes. Who doesn’t remember a bass player with a war helmet and a two strings bass guitar?! When I listened to this album I first was going to name it “For the Loud”, I mean Metallica made a cover album with a snake and everybody calls it a Black Album! So how to guess this album is called “A Prayer for The Loud”? yet I saw the title on the band’s site! It is also the second song…
Once again the band stick to this funny image of cool lads who loves music and have fun. The cover with a simple typed titled as a shadow and a puppet arms in their dead head animal they used for long. Check the tunes :
This is the first song of the album, but the rest is also really cool and gets a D.A.D sound! They haven’t changed, they are still the cool band that hit the charts in 1989!!! It’s rocking, it has that bluesy feel and lyrics to talk about real life in many aspects. Their influences are so wide ACDC, Van Halen , ZZ Top… You won’t be disappointed they rock the world and it is so good. They are touring the world and are stronger than ever so go for it and get your fix now in their shop 98/100.
