Nita Strauss : “Controlled Chaos” Digipack CD 16th November 2018 Sumerian Records. USA Heavy Metal virtuoso . Finally I have this awesome album in my collection. For those who had the money they could order the signed edition posters etc.. But for us who lives in Europe the shipping cost stops us from buying something those days. So here it is a nice album with a double sized poster inside and two stickers from the label and the cover in case you want to stick it in a place where people can see this amazing lady and buy her album.
Nita has made a long way to the top! From her first all female Metal band which is impossible to find from their album nor even a simple word on the net… She has crossed a lot of hard path to finally end up in Alice Cooper ‘s band. Not to mention she has also helped The Iron Maidens band getting huge before her departure. But that band led by Linda ex Phantom blue always find great and talented musicians to keep the monster going.
So while she was playing those greats tunes , like most guitarist she wanted to get an album out with her own songs. And I can say this is a really good album. The girl is skilled, have an awesome drumming boyfriend who plays some powerful kick ass riffs that makes this album even more exceptional.
The artwork is amazing and recall the color of her videos. Everything is well done and organised to be on top of the guitar solo albums charts. A mix of agression and softness to melt down your heart with those creations. I love this album because Nita is a female guitarist so she has feelings, this is why I love female guitarists! yet we can hear a strong influence from Satriani‘s the extremist a little at the beginning. The first song has some classical parts that may think the album has a “Neo Classical” touch as they say but it is not.
Each song is different even if sometimes we hear a scale that links them all. I let you enjoy this brilliant song and video you probably know :
Eleven tracks with the last one being Queen‘s “Show Must Go on” sung in the guitar style with melodies. While listening you can recall all the skills she took from the best guitarists on the planet. Sometimes that fast melodic riffs from Ynqwie Malmsteen, a beautiful song that can leave a tear from your eyes in the vein of Jason Becker, and of course those crazy licks from Marty Friedman.
She had learnt from those amazing players and she became one of them! Some songs have that Thrashy riffs that will make you bang your head , all  the songs are just pure happiness for the ears. Now she has her signature guitar to fulfill the pleasure of playing those awesome tunes. She is somehow a girl that realised the dreams of us all! She deserves respect and you must own this masterpiece in your collection if you are like me a guitar lover!
A masterpiece musically, artistically and a trace in music history. A must have 100/100.
