Stonebreed : “Heart of Stone ” CD 19th October 2017 Rock Avenue Records USA. USA Rock / Hard Rock Band. Four individuals who joined forces to bring some hard rocking tunes. Dedicated to the bones they are most of the time on tour , this new album shows how these musicians know how to bring excellent tunes to the masses. Keeping the flame of the 90’s bands , they release some awesome compositions melting the inspirations from some of the best albums we have loved and cherish.
Carlos Cruz is a good singer with a voice that gives you emotions when needed, and has a range from soft Rock to kicking Hard Rock power to move your body. He’s the right leader for this group.
Brandon Paul is an amazing guitarist that knows all the tricks to get the right note at the right time. He plays like Zakk Wylde inspired by the greatest with harmonics and melodic solos such as Eddie.
Johnny Zell and Orion Rainz (who is in the rockin drummer sections from Teri in The Metal Mag ), both the machine behind the monster are giving the power at the right moment to get those songs that catchy soul making every song hit singles.
The music can be described as the LA soul that started in the early eighties and got strong in the nineties. Stonebreed has it all in one album that will please all the fans of those years as well as new girls ah ah. Eleven tracks that plunge you straight from the first track. “The Highway” sends you back to the fame of Bonfire hit kicking you in the butt. Rocking riffs sometimes bringing you to the brilliant Lynyrd Skynyrd style. Second track “Faded Memories” is keeping that Heavy edge and the more you go to the end the songs get deeper into softness and emotions to get you up shaking on the last songs. Like a wave they chose the songs order to capture your attention and driving you to their world with intense feel regrouping all the best riffs to get you addicted.
The fourth song “Jet City” has that Dangerous Toys vibe , “Living This Way” the ninth song reminds me Motley Crue, “Except Me” can be taken as the ‘ballad’ song of the album. The tenth song “Tonight” reminds me of the song “Radar Love” played by White Lion , influences are so spread from riffs to melodies but at the end gets Stonebreed their trademark rooted into the Metal scene. For the fans of LA Guns, Tesla, Warrant, Skid Row, Poison, Bon Jovi, Jaded…..this band knows definitively how to make a great album with all the best hints of the mighty music that will forever keep the flame.
Shake your butt :
