Etwas: “Enochian Keys chapter” Digital and Digipack CD 1st September 2022 Self Released. French Black / Symphonic Metal band.

I am not into extreme Metal and tend to tell people to contact the right people. I generally listen to a bit to make up my mind since the style has evolved since 1991! the funniest part is every time I tell a Metalhead I love classical music they laugh and say they don’t like it. Yet the symphonic style has been well accepted in the Metal world for years which is impossible to comprehend.

Symphonic has always been Metal mixed with classical music such as Epica. Sometimes it also has Operas such as Nightwish! And people worship them but keep the same stupid answer every time. It’s complete nonsense to me but hey, here is another band in the same vein mixing two music styles. In Etwas, the difference is there is a very melodic voice reminding me of the Russian Folk Metal band Grai.

The idea is always the same, a melodic angelic female voice in the middle of blasting Black Metal riffs with growls. They also chose to have that satanic image right from the cover artwork very different from their first album.

This album is chapter 1 so expect to have a second one in a few years’ time. In the meantime make up your mind :

The album is available on every digital platform and physical at the link. Ten tracks with a special atmosphere, and beautiful voices such as Worhol.

For the fans of the genre, good work with good sound. Recorded, Mixed, and Mastered by Recuiem Prod (Silver CROZE).

France seems to follow the scene always late but it’s good to have the same style in every part of the world 80/100.
