Raging-Rob : “Always The True Assassin” CD 27th April 2018 Self Release. German Thrash Metal band. Assassin‘s singer Robert Gonnella always been a rebel and explosed his rage.  He has been trying to pull it back together after years of unknown business and yet those albums have been repressed and a new album has been made back in 2005. I interviewed the band but the interview is lost in old computers… So I knew Rob went on to form his own band Raging Mob (one photo being in the booklet with an album back in 2008) and he had success in japan while the band Assassin died soon after? their bio talks about 2010…

I must say I haven’t really followed the band due to the members leaving etc.. So Rob is back !!! He just released a new album full of power keeping the Thrash he’s been singing since early eigthies.

In a way it has that groove from the album “The Club” with heavy guitars and angers in the lyrics. He has called his band Raging Rob which describes him pretty well. A complete line up with twelve tracks among three bonuses and one ACDC cover. What is important to say is they have no label and done it themselves!

You can purchase the album (Have all the artwork) on bandcamp and so have a listen first. So after ten years he finally managed to give us a new album as a young band he put his blood and sweat into that piece of art. Among the lyrics you have artworks from his oldest work with the two Assassin’s covers and Raging Mob one mix with others. The artist who done them all is Peter Lazar, (check him out he’s amazing) his raw paintings giving a nice touch to this album which sounds really cool and you will play several times.

This is the eighties Thrash attack from Germany bringing some old cool tunes we love . Songs like ‘Enough’, ‘Cancer’ , ‘Rise Against Failure’ … each song has a great vibe sending you back to Holy Moses, Tankard, Rage, DeathRow, Destruction…and Assasin of course…keeping the roots alive with great sound and a passion that is always there 99/100.
