Spreading the Disease : ” Insurrection” CD self released. UK Alternative Rock / Metal band. I reviewed and interviewed the band years ago and was expecting a blast but I’m desappointed. Sure they are playing what the kids like today so they will get the audience for their music. They are trying too hard to get different but for me they are loosing the spirit of the first blood when they started , the main purpose on this album is concentrated on the lyrics approach to speak the truth but musically is spread out.
The first track “Brexit wound” has a Rap / Hip Hop style vocals in the vein of Faith No More famous album way back in the 90’s and even closer to the Mordred new tunes with screaming vocals.
The second track “can’t let go” has a Pink Floyd hippie style to start and a bit weird feel, the third track ” Dischord” as a clean sound from Machine Head ‘s “the more thing change..” to go back to the hip hop style, a second clean voice is a bit Grunge reminding Nirvana. The song “Spreading the disease” is a punk one with groove.
So in eleven tracks you have a wide range of music style thrown away , the sound is really underground and miss some good mix. Make up your mind :
