Autumns Eyes : “Ending Life Slowly” CD & Digital 31st October 2017 Self Released. USA Gothic / New Wave band. Â I have this album for a while on my hard drive so as I got time I decided to listen and review it. It is always hard to critic an album that is not of your taste but as I love music I listen.
Starting with an awesome cover artwork with crows and pumpkin head in a dark color and really nice logo reminding certain movie, gets you to the point you want to hear what great tunes it can bring. While the concept is pretty good and will attract lots of people with darkness souls as I once used to be , even if growing doesn’t completely takes that off your mind…
Here is a one man band who has several albums on its own. This one is a concept done through halloween and all the dark side it can hold. This also brings you in the universe of Tim Burton’s movies. So it will speak to film lovers and those who are dark minded, but beware it might gets you into suicide if you’re too weak.
So if the cover made by a brilliant Indonesian artist Sorrow Grips (Gojira). Who loves crows and dark art is well chosen for the album, you still have to dig the music. In this case , this is for people who love it heavy without speed and on the same line from the beginning to the end. Sorry for the guitarists they aren’t any solos in this album. It’s much more about atmosphere with violins and keyboards. Few songs might catch the extreme Metal Heads with the screaming voice close to Black Metal at some point but it’s only on few songs.

So it’s dark and very gothic like with hints of Metal music here and there , but mostly for a certain category of people. Influences are in the vein of Depeche Mode , Type o Negative , Indochine , Danzig , Marilyn Manson , Satyricon…
The vocals are always on the same tone giving the impression the singer listens to his voice which is not the love to everyone , the heavy guitars dive the whole album. Autumns Eyes has for sure its own sound and cannot be out of its box.
