Decatur : “Badder Than Brooklyn” CD & Digital 6th October 2017 Produced by Joe Duplantier . Canada Thrash Metal band. It took me a while to go through the list of albums I have to review and I must say this one is on top of them. The style has been changed over the years, if the band mixes the nineties and eighties Thrash, it gives an awesome album for the fans of the genre.
The album is a masterpiece from the cover to the music, I recently saw they changed the logo on their page, which I find pretty good on that design. Looking like a comic book cover it gives a fresh idea of what to expect while listening. For all the metal heads like me who listens Thrash since the early eighties. I can tell you it gives you a big slap in your head! The power, melodies and riffs to get you addicted are all way through the album. It sounds like those guys have been playing music for while.
A band that deserves recognition for putting all their effort in this art proving their motivation and passion for music. They are on the way to success and I hope they will keep this spirit for the upcoming followers. They had the album produced by a french musician who knows how to play heavy tunes , Joe Duplantier from Gojira who made its place in the Metal scene pretty well. He produced the album at Silvercord Studios Brooklyn in New York. Mixed by Johann Meyer (also from Gojira) and mastered by Raphel Bovey at MyRoom Studio Lausanne in Switzerland.
All these people making a great job to have an awesome album you will eat with your ears with pleasure for a long time. If they have their own sound an creations it’s easy to hear the influences that bleed through the amazing compositions. From Toranaga, Sepultura, Metallica, Overkill, Annihilator, Meliah Rage, Pantera, Arkayic Revolt, Grip Inc, Slayer…
Get yourself a kick in the butt :
Now you got convinced just buy the album ! You can do so from their bandcamp page . I’m always amazed to see how bands who wants to get their music out can do all that great work, it has changed from the days when a simple K7 demo tape recorded in the rehearsal studio was enough to spread your compostions. So with this perfect work done equal to the fame bands , they need lost of support! This is a brillant album so don’t pass out to get it into your collection 100/100
