Phear: “Save Our Souls” Digital and CD 13th February 2025 Golden Robot Records. Canadian Heavy / Thrash Metal band.
The band is back with a brand new album, a label change but still same image and following the other releases. Green color and the vilain taking the power. It could be the Joker if you refer to Batman’s movie. It’s something bands don’t do anymore. Having a ‘mascot’ – hero character that set the band’s image with stories.
So it’s with pleasure I see the roots of Metal are still alive, and some like to keep it going. Somehow, the color is giving a nice feel to Metal music. An album was composed at home during COVID-19 that left musicians using the technology to exchange and so then could get into the studio to finalize the work done properly.
Nowadays, albums are going so fast, knowing this one took four years to complete and ending up as a masterpiece. It proves the accomplishment is well deserved, and this album should hit the shores of the Metal scene like a bomb. We can hope it will stick in people’s minds. I can tell it is doing it for me.
It’s a neat, very soft sound, powerful but well worked. It takes your soul. Many influences lead to perfection. It has something addictive to it. It’s heavy and goes deep into the emotion, helping you dig the material. Live it will be crushing even more. That Thrash sound gets into your blood and gets you to appreciate it further.

Influences: Nevermore, Eidolon, Forbidden, Fates Warning, Dearly Behaeded, Metal Church, Meliah Rage, Overkill, Metallica, Wargasm, Testament, Spread Eagle, and many more.
Such a beautiful album. This is what I call original; it is hard not to listen to it without thinking of anything but Phear. I must say they have their sound and it is so good. I wish this would be released as an LP.
A masterpiece to own without a doubt 100/100.
