Speed Demon : “Hellcome” CD 17th May 2019 Self Released. Portugal Thrash Metal band.

Using a name that is used by many gives it hard to find. Like many underground bands , each country usually have their own. So in this case the band has chosen to use one letter and cut in half to get somehow different. The logo is pretty cool and the cover artwork has a strong visual to stand out. 

Speed Demon has been created few years ago and so had many line up changes since the beginning which is common to any bands. They released a mini Ep in 2015 and here they are four years later with a brand new album. Coming out from the destruction of the world thinking there would be a new one coming. Decided to name the album Hellcome expressing the worst fears.

In the vein of eighties Thrash Metal bands, the album is just a mix of all those great tunes that sound so familiar but we love it! They even made like Metallica , a song with the band’s name “Speed Demon” the seventh song of the album. Some great riffs and powerful voice with cool solos. It is really close to the old tunes so it goes quickly in your love box ahah.

Now you got the picture , it is heavy it is thrashy you must love it. While it is not original the songs are well written and it flows in the ears pretty well. Nice songs to get you in a good mood and mosh all day long. “Thunderball”, “Kings of the Road” , “Riding over Skulls” (instrumental to end the album)… it ‘s good time to enjoy some cool tunes.

Influences ranging from Hypnosia, Anthrax, Deceased… it really is a moshing adventure! 86/100.
