Tassi : « Northland III » CD & Digital 18tth March 2022 Time Tombs Production . China Psycho experimental Pop / Folk / Black Metal band.

It is always difficult to review such an album, mainly when it is selected as Extreme Metal when musically it is an experiment.  Giving a subgenre is not easy as it is a mix of plenty of good music. Mostly poetry for the lyrics, great painting for the cover artwork. Several cover artwork depending on the region of the world..

Far from the black straight extreme style that never talks to everyone. Tassi is opening the universe to other dimensions in the music and artistic field. The title written in Ruins symbols gives a special approach to the album.

Lyrics translated into English, help you dive into this spiritual and deep atmosphere. The sound and classical clean tunes send you on a cloud. it could be an album from the late sixties when hippies were smoking weed and enjoying life.

« When Pink Floyd meets Dimmu Borgir »

Following his quest on his journey searching for the loving one. This third chapter is like a book in a sound way, experimenting with universes, and dimensions. It gives you images of a character going through emotions. Trapped in the fog on the top of the mountains.

Fighting between dead souls and his inner self. Tassi screams to extrude those pains. All done by one man Dryad Tassi. Music, recording, mixing .. he is a one-man-band. Only the artwork is done by Alcide Nathanaël.

Ten tracks in a spiritual way, with full emotions from calm to sad. A journey into Tassi’s head, some will relate. A beautiful piece of artwork, I personally won’t classify as Black Metal but for the fans, I would tell them it’s a bit like the First Dimmu Borgir album,  screaming growls such as Darkthrone or Marduk for the voice (expressing anger and despair). Much soft music in the vein of Pink Floyd, Mike Old Field … the Chinese music style!

Imagine the season of apple trees smashed by a hurricane at the same time. it will be played other the boundaries of musical styles.

A good artistic album 90/100.
