Trauma : “As The World Dies” CD & Digital 11th May 2018 The Orchard. USA Thrash Metal band. They are bands who have never got a chance to get the exposure they need. People mostly know the name because Cliff Burton played in this band. We can say they have been unlucky to pursue the same career as some have but this is a great band that needs to be supported and loved.
The first album “Scratch and Scream” in early eighties has left a trace, it’s only in 2015 they made a come back with an awesome album “Rapture and Wrath” on Pure Steel Records quickly covered in The Metal Mag . Donny Hillier ‘s melodic powerful vocals capturing your senses with emotions , putting his influences from the Heavy Metal style keeping the roots of this formation since the beginning. His long time friend Kris Gustofson behind the kit that leads this powerhouse running, keeping this band on top of the scene. This new album is kicking with the addition of Joe Fraulob amazing player from Danzig, Steve Robello from Dublin Death Patrol, another awesome guitar player. They are joined by the brilliant bass player Greg Christian (Trinity Fallen, Testament…) which sets this band to be a major one to explode the year of 2018!!!
This album took some time to get out and finally hits the Metal shores to kick serious asses, this album is a Thrash Metal history by itself. The title as a common typo that is used for and by Metal bands, the dark yet reality cover photo pushing back into the memories but is unfortunately still actual. Ten songs that get you straight into the mood of ‘get in your face ‘ slogan with the first track “The Rage” with a nice clean guitar intro reminding the band Heathen, pounding riffs with amazing solos and a voice that gives you the power to mosh and head bang like mad. Trauma is the Rage so get it! The second song “From Here to Hell” has bit of Metallica and Metal Church… The third song is the titled album “As the World Dies” with a deep heavy start touching your heart and soul right like a nail into the skin having some speed giving this song a real story to feel and dig completely.
The sixth song “Run for Cover” has the classical intro with double guitars to blast reminding Overkill , Flotsam and Jetsam… So you understood if you never heard of this band well it’s time you give a listen and get addicted by this amazing album that regroups every sounds and creations the eighties have given us for so many years and makes Trauma with their own sound , the legitimacy to be part of the famous bands in the Thrash Metal style.

The album is closing with a song called “Savage” which is a a brilliant one to end this masterpiece of pure melodies and power. That proves the band has many years to come and many albums to create to finally be recognized as one of the first bands that influenced the scene in the eighties! Long life Trauma and keep us with amazing tunes, a must have in your collection to play over and over again 100/100.
