Alessio Berlaffa : “Electric Mist” CD 11th January 2018 Lion Music. Italian virtuoso guitarist. At times where guitarist are all trying to get their own sound, it’s hard to get different feelings while listening to a great album like this. A brilliant musician for sure , he created this “project” with eleven songs and eleven musicians. The theme is the forest and the music will take you into nice places where leaves are gently flowing in the air and a nice wind send you fragrances among the way, a great moment to enjoy. You can read what he said to his label in The Metal Mag .

This is a testimony to mother earth, each songs have titles related like “Seasons” , “Big Sky”, “Elements”.. While the man is an accomplished musician I regret like many to hear too much of my favorite guitarist : Joe Satriani in which you can catch easily in the song “Down to Earth” even if his influences are various guitarists (Paul Gilbert, Richie Kotzen, Greg Howe, Kee Marcello, Steve Vai). The main melodies and riffs make me think of Satch from the first note of the album.

Of course it’s difficult to be original those days but sometimes guitarists have different way to express themselves. This is a great album don’t get me wrong. The most important here are the musicians who participated to get that masterpiece going through your ears. Being a one man doing it all such as producing, mixing.. you can give him a high top award for releasing this album. There are little parts that reminds me Dokken’s Georges Lynch arpeggios and you will probably find other influences.

So if you love guitars and want to support this guy just buy this perfect album 99/100.
