Carl Canedy: “Tales of a Wild Dog” Autography Book 4th April 2024 New Haven Publishing.
I must say I reviewed a book once, well-known musicians may press one someday. Carl wasn’t really into it and made up his mind. Many journalists told him to do it. After a while, he thought it would be a good idea to leave her daughter good memories of her father. Writing a book isn’t easy, I know it, and everyone who has had the idea knows the difficulties.
Carl Canedy has a network and good friends. Phillip “Doc” Harrington helped him co-write this book. It takes me a long time to read a book, and the ones I reviewed were kind of fiction apart from the ones Lita Ford wrote about her musical journey since she was a child until today.
First of all a brilliant musician playing the drums in the trio The Rods, very well-known in the music world. What you may not know, he is responsible for great Thrash Metal albums back in the early eighties such as Overkill, Exiter, and Anthrax he has produced, to name a few.
The good thing about this book is like a DVD documentary you can find about Heavy Metal and Thrash Metal history told by the musicians and journalists themselves. Carl Canedy thought it was a good thing to let people tell their own stories among himself making a two-sided view for people to understand what happened back then. Although I know a lot about the early days of Heavy Metal as I grew up with this music, I learned more things by reading this book.
The book starts with musicians’ statements that are good for everyone reading it, greetings to the man who’s been essential for the music scene. A talented individual worshiped by many. Then his daughter’s statement about her childhood and of course her love.
Full-on emotion, the book is a dedication to a legend still kicking today with his band. Read through his life as a kid until knows, why he plays the drums and gets surrounded by images of those years like watching an old movie. From the first time, he learned to play in his first band. You will know everything about Carl Canedy you ever wondered.
A book you need to read 100/100.
