Drunken Crocodiles : “Out of Barrel” Digital 29th March 2019 Too Loud Records. Italian Doom / Stoner / Grunge / Heavy Metal band. Started in 2013 with many line up changes and playing in different bands. The music is getting back to the roots of Heavy Metal. The band is describing this music as a blend of their influences and by listening to it you can only agree.

With a brilliant logo artwork , that is better on its own than half cut here on the cover, they made a strong design that speaks for itself. Three guys enjoying themselves with drinks and playing music , how surprising is this uh… While most bands today loves to get the moniker of Stoner that makes it cool, this is nothing than great Heavy Metal music mixed with the nineties Grunge explosion all coming out of Punk style with better sound.

Down tuned guitars, screaming vocals and heavy riffs you have the music of Drunken Crocodiles. Very mush inspired by Tony Lommi‘s Black Sabbath guitar riffs, the band that for me created Heavy Metal and inspired Thrash Metal riffs. Mixed up with the early screaming vocal from Soundgarden‘s  Chris Cornel added to guitar riffs from Pearl Jam this is pretty much what I can hear.

So basically you have the main music in those eleven songs of this album! Nothing original you will tell me, but yeah lots of people love those heavy riffs and those born in the nineties will love that Grunge influence.

I leave you enjoying this song, first from the album :

I was expecting something more powerful with that work on the logo and that cover album, finally it is on the same line all the way through. The band has chosen the right name , I am surprised they haven’t called a song “smoking weed” for the boring tune that never moves from the passive music line.

Even if that Black Sabbath riff at some point makes me a little bit appreciating the music, I prefer the original that has more anger and melodies. You are free to support this band if you dig the tunes , they have made a great work it just doesn’t do it for me. Just love the logo 95/100.
