Final Coil : “The World We Left Behind Others” CD & Digital 12th April 2019 WormHoleDeath Records. UK Rock / Heavy Metal band. While Phil tells the first note on the album is the last one from the first one, I really hear a completely different music than the previous effort. The inspiration is born from the letters he read from her dead grand mother, in which he learnt unknown spoken words that gave him the wish to write what is lyrically explained in this special album.
Starting with a kind of sample like intro, with a beat tune… it is kind of scary for me but the next track you can see in the video gets back to a much powerful tune. No label change and a very different approach from the earliest material. The band certainly didn’t think the first album would get so much love and great press, writing a second album is always hard unless you have songs or riffs left . For Final Coil it wasn’t the case and they had to create from scratch a new atmosphere and feel to get this creation something people would remember from.
If the amazing cover artwork may remember Korn ‘s late nineties album, it ain’t the same tune at all. In fact this peaceful and beautiful piece sends you into a great place. The music has some high and low moments but is really much into the soft Rock for most part. Like flying on top of the clouds, you can grab the intensity of the feelings the musicians went through to the composition time.
By mixing the tunes and feel, the music is going through musical period of time getting many influences. It is hard to ping hole the complete style. I gave the main styles but it regroups in fact many that makes this piece of artwork special and authentic. I guess they will get another explosion going from the masses.

So here is one of the first track, actually it is the first track right after that intro. Although I love the atmosphere that reigns through this album reminding some other bands, I regret those beats that are so common with todays music taking all the essence of the music. Influences are among many Sound Garden, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins …
It is a really quite album that may send you into the mood you are at the moment and may stick to your mind. This is an imaginary Trip 98/100.
