EZOX : “One Last Breath” Digital 15th May 2019 Self Released. French Alternative / Modern Metal band. Started in 2013 they released a first EP one year ago. This is the band that got all the inspiration from the late nineties bands , mixing samples and distortion with melodic passages.

Songs in French and English with some Industrial passages, we can say they are using all the modern sounds and what most bands are doing today in the music to get the new breed joining. They are what we call “Metal” today, a bit of every music styles in one from Gothic, Symphonic, Nu-Metal, Industrial, Modern Pop, Alternative Rock, Death Metal…

Mixing emotions with melodic , distorted voices .. each songs will have different fans and EZOX will be well welcome in live festivals where every music fans are together. The first four tracks are juggling between those modern music styles while on the fifth track you are sent into different music one!

“The Crown of Thorns” are right into Heavy, Thrash, Death Metal style with few samples in the vein of Fear Factory… Then the next song “Gribouillage” is into deep sad feeling with a sample from emergency call that shred your feelings to jump into melancholic Rock reminding French band Noir Désir. To get back into another kick ass song with distortion and power in the vein of Exodus mixed with others like they are incorporating many influences in one song…So it keeps jumping from style to another like changing radio stations.

Check this one:

So it is hard to put Ezox in a box, their music is as strange as their band’s name. Some passages I like some not , it is a mix of today’s generation who likes many music styles but at the same time gets  confusion into the listener’s mind.

So it feels like two different mini albums in one! It is like they discovered other bands and Metal styles they have incorporated into their playing that may be the reason of this “mess” with the compositions.

Influences are varied : Five Finger Death Punch , Porn , Gojira, Dissection, Dust In Mind, Astray Valley, Architects…Fortunately they have great solos in the vein of Kirk Hammet from Metallica that saves the whole! For the new generation breed 86/100.
