French Black Metal band. One man project  ‘Macabre’, who manages to have musicians to help him during live performance. I don’t know if he actually plays all instruments but this album sounds like a real band. This is really for the fanatics of the genre and the cover looks like coming out from an old cave with spider webs. He started six years ago and obviously has lots of fans due to the success of his compostions leading him to play across Europe.

Few albums released and he even had one album recorded at the Unchained Wolf studio, mastered by Devo from Marduk and with an artwork by the Italian artist Asphodel.

The universe of that album is pretty dark with deep feeling completed from songs in French and others in English but the melodies makes it enjoyable to listen to. The screamings vocals are usual for that kind of band yet well recorded it helps to get the band a professional image. Lots of keyboards and females chantings voices has a bit of Dimmu Borgir style . Mixed with the symphonic parts that set Mortis Mutilati apart from the usual Black Metal bands. For the non lovers of that music style, if you take out the screams vocals it makes a real and nice music . So it might get loved by many people who loves diverse influences we are getting used to hear now .

Ten songs with lyrics pretty much described on the front cover. “Homicidal Conscience”,  “Regards d’Outre-tombe”.. and so on gives you the spirit of the whole story around that special art. It’s like a ghost music that revives the dead from below.

So beware and buy this album at your own risk, it might freeze you to death or simply take your soul to an infinite universe. Recorded at Endarker Studios in Sweden with again Marduk ‘s Magnus “Devo” the band brings you a nice product to own for the fans  96/100.
