Need2Destroy : “Show” Digipack CD 25th January 2019 Fastball Music. German Punk / Rock / Folk / Alternative Rock / Metal…band. The first time I heard this band I was sure this was another Brazilian or Mexican one due to their lyrics in Spanish. Yet they are from Germany where the label is from!
So the band is a mix of many music styles and genres. Pretty hard to put in a box but they remind me some cool bands from France as the latin ones who sing in their roots language mixing those gypsy sounds and Metal ones. The album starts with an explosion of screaming and distortions but it is not all the band is creating making this album special. The name of the band reflects well the first tracks on this piece of art. The title is describing simply the society we are living in and so we must see the show with all the agression and softness it brings everyday.
Recorded at the Presskopp Studios in Frankfurt , it makes you travel through the songs, if you have been to latin countries you will have the images in your mind while listening to this album. The sound of this album is worldwide opened, meaning it has no boundaries and each song can be loved by many different people with different music styles like.
The singer has sometimes a “tenor” voice sounding like two singers and is simply expressing the theme of the lyrics. So you are sometimes in a Metal concert, sometimes in a spanish latino bar .. it is amazing all the memories it brings in my mind while listening to Need2Destroy .
I leave you having a taste of the first song from the album :
Their influences are mainly into the late nineties mixed with older musical styles. You may hear a bit of Sepultura, La Mano Negra, Raging Against the Machine, System of a Down…The guitar distortion is light like those ones from the seventies right from the Amp. Although the band is from today’s era they have lots of old things from the sound to the creations that are in my mind so I can’t really give all those non Rock / Metal influences but it will pop up to your mind if you heard those artists who plays Gypsy Latin guitar style.
I find this quite interesting to have bands creating those songs that matches the emotions and feelings from many parts of the world making this album unique. A band to follow and spread as they worth the listen, if you love music you will appreciate this band and their album full of musical experiences. A very interesting piece of art to own 98/100.
