VOLDT : “Voken” CD & Digital 10th May 2019 Self Released. German modern Dark / Alternative /Progressive / Metal band. Started only two years ago, the three piece band has already made few compositions and release this new mini Ep to get their place into the Metal world.
It’s with a pleasure yet surprised to see a kitten on a cover of an album that is supposed to scare people (laugh). The green and red lines invoke you to wear your 3D glasses to seriously see how this little cat can scare you to death with his dark eyes. It could be a Sci-Fy movie from the fifties.
Very simple logo with an edge to install this straight lines to give you an insight of what to expect when listening. Out of the box it is difficult to really give them a music style as they are mixing many in just few songs. It is dark that’s for sure, in the way of Gothic or New Wave style (Type ‘O negative) but with a deep side.
Cold , Heavy voice that sets you to dig the lyrics and keep listening to hear the main vibe of this amazing band. Some faster tempos with cooler ones. Going from a kind of ballad to speed moments and even voice changes, they are revisiting the music history in their own way. Voldt has made its own sound that gets them out of the ordinary band.
Those creative lads have composed some serious music to please many , having those Death Metal blended passages into a progressive technical way (Death) . It has somehow a Jazzy feel to it. Some good Rock songs melted with every genres that the modern youth seems to be pleased with.

So expect to have a journey into the music deep blood, exploring in a way like Star Trek serie, different area of the music decades and what you may have lost or never heard. Voldt is a band without boundaries playing music in its grandeur and as musicians.
A great piece for those who are searching for something new and different. You may love one song more than another but you will love this six songs album if you love music. “Conqueress” , “To Forge Ahead” , “Black”.. each song has a special touch and it makes a very unique album.
I wish them to have the creativity to pursue this journey to creation for the next albums 96/100.
