Necronomidol : ” Voidhymn” LP & Digital 24th April 2019 Specific Recordings. Japan Modern Metal / Pop / Indus / Rock band.  Released as a CD in September 2018, the album is being reprinted as a Vinyl! While many fans are still purchasing LPs it makes sense Japan wants to print this beautiful piece. I have discovered the Japanese Metal scene recently, to my surprise they are all female bands with extremely good musicians. The difference here is they are not playing any instruments! They are just dancing and singing while the music is in the background, a bit of a dancing theatrical piece.

Started in 2014 the band has already made few albums and obviously this one is composed of older songs reworked to make a complete album with new songs. This time the cover artwork doesn’t show the band’s logo  but features inside. Necronomidol  is a really special band and will not please everyone ; with a strong Black Metal logo, the band is playing with images and styles that are visiting many genres. Very much into the Manga area, those Japanese girls send us the perfect curiosity and weirdness this country has been showing us for decades.

Like immersed into the strange and wild world of their trade, the feeling of being plunged into the horror movies and manga universes will conquer all the fans of the genres. It’s with a special apprehension I listen to this curious album. A nice cover painted artwork made by  Maruo Suehiro, setting up the universe to your mind. Without boundaries it is normal that each song is into a music style that doesn’t rely to the image most bands with that kind of music is giving us.

So you have a song with blasting beats such as Black Metal, some songs with Pop passages, others with Electronic sounds … A particular album with ten songs in many vibes and atmospheres. Necronomidol is right into the new era of digital music, playing with senses and feelings; an explosion of tunes and great musicianship. Pretty hard to express, Heavy Metal power and melodies the scene is used to play. Singing in Japanese language, each member wearing the clothes of dark gothic style…This band is perfect for the Uk London Scene and all other countries who like it different.

I am just a bit sceptical about the fact they are just dancing, which is not what people expect from music. I would love to see the musicians behind those riffs. Check a video :

So this is weird to see that music has somehow becoming like an entertaining place where musicians like technicians are left behind like objects. This pop culture is killing the music by having people dancing and singing on top of the music people have been creating. I want to credit all the musicians and artists who make the music and artwork to have girls having fun on stage…
