Patrick Hemer : “The Writing’s on The Wall” CD 14th November 2019 Lion Music. Germany Heavy / Progressive / Metal shredder.
Longtime studio guitarist and teacher , he joined a band called Horizon who released some acclaimed album in the years of 2000’s worldwide. After the band disbanded, Patrick went back to what he is good at. Teaching and playing for various projects to keep it with creations and mostly playing guitar.
He finally made his own band he produced and managed. This album shows his abilities of playing guitar and singing. Fifth album from his own discography, you can hear many influences in one album. Starting with songs he sings on and some instrumental shredding ones to blow you away with pleasure.
Powerful and Heavy riffs, some thrashy parts, some classical shreds. You have a 100% Metal album! A pleasure for the ears of any Metal Heads, whatever style you are fan of you will love this album. A cover album showing two different lives between the cities of big buildings and the part where everything is dead. Lyrics about life’s feeling and self consciousness.
Melodies and anger giving this album a very Heavy touch. Patrick Hemer is a busy and talented man. You can find Utube videos as partition on his website. Dedicated to his Jackson’s guitars, he’s for sure someone to follow for any guitarist addicts. You will love those solos and those great parts of different vibes mixed with kick ass riffs , a band that pounds the head with great tunes.

Influences ranging from Eric Lars Mattson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Autograph, Chris impellitteri, Lance King, Steve Vai, Dream Theater, Megadeth, Firewind, Symphony X, Deep Purple, Marty Friedman, Lethal.. Patrick is an amazing guitarist. I don’t know if we can say he is underrated in a time where many guitarists are giving us some good music to blast our lives with.
For some people they love this or that guitarist for any reasons may exist. To make your choice is just to think about those different styles in music that makes us get boxes where we can put the bands or musicians. In the case of Patrick he is definitively into the Progressive part. Yet to me he is just an amazing guitarist who is not to be categorized.
If there is a Metal album you should own and listen to is this one. A brilliant album to get all the best tunes in one, get it now 98/100.
