DarkWater : “Human” CD 1st March 2019 Ulterium Records. Sweden AOR / Progressive Rock / Heavy Metal band. It is never easy to review an album, mainly when it is a Swedish band in the Progressive style. It is so perfect that it is harder to find the words to describe the music.

Such as Jazz, those musicians are so good they manage to mix up all the technologies. Strong power with keyboards leading the whole as in this style it is the main instrument that gives that special atmosphere. They have decided  to talk about us, yeah us the human beings with all the good and bad experiences we live through our lives.

Lots of melodies and heavy riffs, the album starts with an explosion of amazing tunes to absorb you into the band’s world. With this third album DarkWater found their style and it is growing to become recognized in the music world as blasting tunes with power and emotions.

Touching your senses, if you dig the music you will be embarked into a journey lifting your body above the ground and touch the sky with love. The use of the keyboard is used a lot here, the guitars are heavy pounding with beautiful melodic solos that won’t leave you insensible. The second song “In Front of You” has those battles between the guitar and the keyboard reminding the old days from Deep Purple , Malmsteen etc…

The third song “Alive” is divided into two parts with a big question about our lives, starting with a soft tunes and guitar notes played one by one like a whisper. Just this one may be a hit single on the radio! The other part is getting back to the heavy entertaining parts that make this band such epic in a way. One of the main video kicking the world in the face.

Have a listen:

Ten songs to take you out of this world’s madness to enjoy a peaceful yet powerful moment , like the cover artwork you are sent into another world. Mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Evergrey, Volbeat, Amaranthe) who is a master into getting perfect album sounds. Influences as usual in the vein of Rush, Lance King, Yes… You’ll find your way with all the bands in the same veins , to do like my friend Ryan : ” Hum… so perfect it is tough to give a note.. but I’ll go for a …100/100″ ahah.
