GRENOUER : “Ambition 999” [Deluxe Edition] 2019 Mazzar Records. Russian Modern Progressive Rock / Metal band.

Started in the early 2000 years, the band managed to find the right line up to pursue it ‘s way , and after several albums they are back with a brilliant special Edition for all the fans. The album first came out as a normal album early 2019 on a Greek label “Sleazy Rider”, and is now available on a Russian label as a Deluxe Edition with not less than seventies songs!

The first album was reviewed by The Metal Mag (can be found on the old website) , the band has been gaining success and great exposure. It’s always good to see a band alive after so many years and putting out albums. It’s with a special feel I review this album. Their start was pretty much different and they were in the underground , they evolved musically and so their music moved from a style to another.

I can tell after so many years, Grenouer found the right music to spread and keep them alive. It might be tough for the first fans , but some bands pass the decades changing their way of thinking or simply evolving personally and so the music evolves with them. I am greatful to have reviewed them back in the day and to see they are still here spreading their wings. Fourteen songs and three bonuses, making this album an explosion of pleasure. Melodies, rocking tunes, feelings you have everything to fall in love. Emotional at some point, the videos are sometimes harder that the music they play. Their lyrics are about hard event in life and many things we can all relate to. 

So you will plunge into the world of Grenouer and still feel happy and listen this album for long. Pounding tunes, great solos, a sound that can be categorised as mainstream but that probably what makes them loved around the world. A musical journey to please the musicians as simple individuals who wants to have a good time. 

Grenouer has found the receipt to get out of the underground and explose with love and power. Influences are so varied but I can give you few I have found close such as Spread Eagle, Lars Eric Mattson, Muse, Yes.. to name a few. A very pleasent journey to breath away 99/100.
